Katrina Robinson article

Katrina Robinson was born and raised in Amelia County, VA. Katrina grew up in the church and remained faithful throughout the years. She has served the church in many capacities by singing in the choir, ushering, teaching Sunday school, she served as a secretary doing administrative work and more. All her life she has always been a Queen Size woman, but for her it was a struggle to recognize herself for who she was. That is not an easy task when you are ridiculed and made fun of throughout school like Katrina was. In the eleventh grad, she was finally able to get a break and find some sort of happiness when she got into her first relationship. He treated her like a Queen and that helped raised her self esteem level a little bit.  She graduated from VCU in 2000 with a degree in Info Systems and got married a couple years later. Things made took a turn for the worst when she got divorced in 2006. She again found herself fighting to find that self love.
Katrina had dreams of becoming a model and an actress. With the help of her friend, she began modeling by December of 2007. Katrina learned that modeling was more than just being a pretty face smiling for pictures. She learned to walk the walk and strut her stuff on the runway like she never imagined in the spotlight. That helped to build her confidence overcome her shyness.

The obstacles that stood in my way were those recurring feelings of low self-esteem and doubt that I felt when people like my family and friends did not support me when I first started. It is still difficult to get people to support the shows that we are in, but I tell myself to keep going and eventually I will make it in the industry with or without them. Another obstacle that almost stood in my way was my age. In my early 30s I felt it was too late to start modeling. I soon realized anyone of any age can be a model. I love it!
My all time goal is to become a print ad model and actress. I have always dreamed of being in magazines and on posters and advertisements, Websites, etc. I would love to be in commercials and on televised fashion shows. In the meantime, I am having a ball and loving the runway scene!
